Interjet connects more than 50 million passengers per year across 57 destinations within Mexico, United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean with a modern fleet, operated by our committed and superb-trained staff.

Light Fare is perfect if you want to fly with little baggage. With this fare, as with the others, you will enjoy benefits like courtesy snacks and drinks, or a wide space between seats. Optima Fare allows you to make changes to your reservation at a lower price than Light Fare, besides, it gives you the chance to select your seat. Priority Fare lets you choose your seat between the 2 first rows of the aircraft; in addition, it offers preferential check-in and boarding, changes at no cost and reimbursements up to 24 hours before the flight. Check the benefits of each fare in detail here.

Every fare allows you to take 10 kg as carry-on baggage, divided in up to 2 pieces. On flights from Mexico to Canada or the United States and vice versa, Optima Fare lets you take one piece of checked baggage, while Priority Fare enables you to fly with 2.

In domestic flights in Mexico or on flights from Mexico to Latin America and vice versa, Light and Optima fares allow you to travel with one bag as checked baggage. Likewise, you can fly with 2 pieces in Priority Fare.

Despite of the fare you choose, Interjet allows you to transport additional bags to the ones included in your baggage allowance from $550 MXN (on routes within Mexico), $25 USD (on routes from/to Latin America or the United States) or $36 CAD (on routes from/to Canada). In these cases, it is important to take into account the maximum dimensions of special baggage and the weight restriction of 25 kg (55 lb) per piece.

If any of your bags surpasses the maximum weight, price per extra kilo is $80 MXN (on routes within Mexico), $8 USD (on routes from/to Latin America or the United States) or $7 CAD (on routes from/to Canada). This applies up to a maximum of 5 kg (11 lb), which means that each bag can weigh up to 30 kg (66 lb).

In case you exceed your checked baggage allowance, please arrive at least 3 hours before your flight at the airport check-in desk to verify availability within our cargo area.

In carry-on baggage, you can take 1 or 2 pieces of up to 10 kg (22 lb).

In checked baggage, the number of bags varies depending on the chosen fare. Here, it is important to take into account the restriction of 25 kg (55 lb) per piece.

Purchases can be paid by:

Cash (American dollars or the national currency of the country), if you make your payment at the airport.

Credit card, if you make the purchase through the Call Center.

Credit or debit card if you make the reservation on our website.

Yes. You can change the name through the Call Center, covering the corresponding amount plus taxes (it varies depending on the chosen fare).

It is important to consider that if your flight is a round trip, you won’t be able to make changes in your reservation once you take the outbound flight.

Yes. It is possible to modify the date and/or schedule of the flight, as long as:

There is availability of space on the new flight.

The corresponding payment is made.

The cost between the paid fare and the fare in force at the moment of making the change is covered (if the current fare is lower than the one you paid, there won’t be any refund).

The desired change is requested at least 4 hours before the departure of the flight originally booked, directly at the origin airport, through the Call Center or in our website.

Yes. It is possible to modify the route, as long as:

There is availability of space on the new flight.

The corresponding payment is made.

The cost between the paid fare and the fare in force at the moment of making the change is covered (if the current fare is lower than the one you paid, there won’t be any refund).

The desired change is requested at least 4 hours before the departure of the flight originally booked, directly at the origin airport, through the Call Center or in our website.

Priority Fare gives the passenger right to make changes in departure times, flight date, name or route, with no additional charges, provided that such modifications are requested during the validity of the ticket and there is availability within the corresponding fare group.

For purposes of the above, the passenger must request the desired change at least 4 hours prior to the departure of the originally contracted flight, directly at the airport of origin or via Call Center.

If the requested change involves the application of a fare higher than the one originally paid, the passenger must pay the corresponding difference, both per segment and per passenger. Otherwise, that is, if the change involves the application of a fare lower than the one originally paid, the difference will be credited to the passenger in his/her electronic wallet, for which the passenger must have a Club Interjet and/or Club Interjet Premium account.

On the other hand, in our 2 other fares -Light and Optima-, changes in reservations do have a cost. However, it is important to note that these modifications have a lower cost in Optima Fare.

Infants don’t pay a fare and can travel in the arms of an adult; they neither have an assigned seat nor baggage allowance.

Some countries charge a departure tax. In those cases, infants don’t pay a fare but have to cover that fee at the origin country.

When an adult travels with infants, he/she has to inform Interjet at the time of the purchase. It is only permitted that an adult travels with 2 children under 2 years of age: while the first one can travel in the arms of his/her father, mother or guardian, the second infant has to pay a fare but is exempt from the airport terminal fee, this gives him/her the right to an assigned seat and baggage allowance.

Yes. Interjet can transport unaccompanied minors who are between 5 and 18 years old minus one day, at the moment of the flight.

The following considerations need to be taken into account:

Unaccompanied minors cannot travel with Priority Fare due to the airline policies in relation to passengers with special needs.

If a minor travels alone, Interjet needs to be informed at the moment of the purchase.

The service has a $50 USD, $68 CAD or $500 MXN fee, in each direction, which must be paid while purchasing the ticket.

At the time of checking in, the father, mother or guardian will have to specifically request Interjet the transportation of the unaccompanied minor.

The father, mother or guardian will have to provide the necessary information to fill the form “Request of Unaccompanied Minors Service” (data of the minor, data of the person who delivers the minor and data of the person who receives the minor at the destination airport). Besides, the person exercising parental authority or guardianship over the minor will have to sign this document.

The father, mother or guardian will have to stay at the airport until the plane takes off.

The person designated by the father, mother or guardian of the minor, will have to show an official identification with photo to receive the child at the destination airport.

In addition to the passport of the minor, official ID of the person who gives authorization (the one who has parental authority or guardianship) and, if this happens, official ID of the adult who will accompany the minor, one of the following documents is requested when traveling abroad:

  • A document through which those exercising parental authority or guardianship, authorize the departure of the minor from the country, executed before a notary public.
  • A document issued by the competent authority. Minors with Mexican nationality or residency, who travel from Mexico to other countries, require the Departure Form for Minors (SAM). You can learn more about the process to get this document on the National Institute of Immigration (INM) website . If the document that contains the authorization is granted abroad, it must be legalized or apostilled, as appropriate, and be accompanied by the respective translation if written in any language other than Spanish.
