As of May 23, 2007, Interjet launched the initial phase of its Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Center, located at Toluca International Airport near Mexico City.

The Maintenance and Repair Center is contemplating 3 phases of development covering an area of approximately 864,000 sq. feet. (80,000 sq. meters). The Maintenance Center will have the capacity of offering major repair and painting services for Airbus A320 and A340 aircraft.

Phase One is comprised of a hangar with dual capacity for major repairs and painting of Airbus A320 aircraft as well as a platform for service and overnight stops for the same type of aircraft.

This project was conceived and designed by Interjet’s engineers and technicians, under the assessment of Airbus, thus offering a highly advanced maintenance facility with the most advanced technology.

This sophisticated engineering facility was built in record time, in approximately 5 months, with the efficiency and productivity that characterizes Interjet. Phase One represents an economic investment of $ 10 million USD, providing full-time employment to 70 highly-qualified technicians in addition to the engineers and mechanics that also joined Interjet’s maintenance team.

This financial commitment clearly reflects the confidence placed on behalf of Interjet’s investors regarding the airline’s future in Mexico’s aeronautical industry. The maintenance staff servicing the center has been carefully selected and contracted, and is constantly updated with specialized training certified by Airbus. Actually, Interjet has its own Training Center which enables the airline to uphold the same standards of knowledge and service.

This major investment solidifies Interjet’s maintenance infrastructure, and ensures that its current and future fleet will always be serviced with the best care and the highest standards in the aeronautical industry at a worldwide level.

MRO (Third-Party Servicing)

It has been recognized that Mexican skilled labor is highly ranked in the aeronautical/aviation industry, providing competitive advantages in quality and productivity over similar services in North America and Europe.

This Maintenance Center will be able to provide major repair services on Mexican aircraft that normally would have been contracted from the outside, as well as becoming a source of earnings by providing maintenance and repair services to foreign airlines seeking for the best service and value.

Since 2007, this Center offers the following maintenance and repair services:

  1. Online services
  2. “A” Services
